- When I upgraded from a GVC 2400 to a 14.4k Dual Standard, I kept the
- cable from the 2400 (which I bought four years ago). Although I haven't
- tested the pins, I'm quite certain it isn't a hardware handshaking cable.
- I can connect to other HST's at 14400 and v.32 modems at 9600 without any
- data corruption problems. v.42bis is on at all times and my serial port
- in set to 38400 in Proterm. I don't think you aboslutely *need* an RTS/CTS
- cable, but it may speed up throughput because the computer doesn't have to
- send XON/XOFF's for flow control.
