- I have an interesting question. I installed Os/2 today on my PS/2 model 90
- at work which is a 486/33 with an XGA graphics adapter. I installed it to
- use the high res (1024x768) mode. I have a Tseng ET4000 based adapter on
- my 486/50 at home. I noticed that the high res XGA driver includes a large
- number of really nice fonts to use in DOS boxes. Far more readable than
- the junk we are putting up with in Ochids high res 256 colors. I know
- that the screen fonts are stored in the .DLL file (display.dll)...so is
- there any way for me to extract the fonts from the XGA display.dll and
- incorporate them into the Orchid drivers? I would think that a resource
- editor would be able to do this...but I don't know of any resource editors
- for DOS, Windows or OS/2. I'd love to have an equivalent of Resedit for
- the Mac on my PC. Any comments or solutions?
-
- It seems odd to me that Orchid would keep putting out these sorry ass
- drivers with ugly ass 2-choice having fonts when the built in XGA drivers
- have so many beautiful fonts!
