  21. I'd have to agree  with you there. When  I worked with small  systems, I
  22. was amazed at MS's understanding of the marketplace (advertising, sales,
  23. phone support,  etc) compared  to IBM's  total lack  of commitment. What
  24. little commitment IBM had was bogged down in their lunatic  self-imposed
  25. restrictions.

  27. Looking at it now from the corporate level, almost the exact opposite is
  28. true.  IBM  is  in  there,  plugging  away with OS/2, while Microsoft is
  29. delegated to the sidelines, trying to get their act together.

  31. I expect that the next few years should be really interesting.
