  23. Have you tried checking the value of the &S command?  It controls 
  24. whether DSR is nailed high or tracks the offhook condition.

  29. Hayes modems do not return NO ANSWER if the phone is never answered, 
  30. unless you've used the "@" (Wait for Quiet Answer) dial modifier. I 
  31. imagine that Supra is probably the same.  If you simply dial a 
  32. number without using "@", and it never answers, S7 will expire and 
  33. you get NO CARRIER.  That's always been the way it is defined to 
  34. work.
