  12. I have noticed that the command ATQ2 does not work on my PPI 14400FX ... modem.
  13. This command is supposed to disable result codes for answer modes, yet enable
  14. them for originating calls.  For unix based systems, this is nice, because getty
  15. then is not confused by the RING, CONNECT, etc. messages, but the modem can still
  16. be used normally for outgoing calls by uucp which dialog with the result codes.

  18. Anyway, it seems that the ATQ2 command just turns off result codes entirely, just
  19. as does the ATQ1 command.  I reported this problem to PPI today, and they're
  20. "going to get back to me."

  22. Has anyone else experienced this?  If so, do you have suggestions for corrective
  23. action or workaround?
