- I've just started comparing V.32bis modems (I have 2 each: Microcom
- QX/4243bis; Intel 14.4ex; Zoom v.32bis; U.S. Robotics Sportster
- 14,400; and PPI 14400FXSA). Results are far from complete right now
- (my matrix isn't even set up yet), but from what I can see so far,
- ZOOM modems may do that more often than some others. However, please
- wait until I have a full matrix. (Zoom does have the most LEDs
- however. But PPI has an LCD character display that tops the LEDs by
- far.)
-
- These modems were picked to be representative of both cheaper and
- midrange modems with a nod toward brands that we'd used in the past
- for 2400bps. Unfortunately, I failed to convince my boss to let us
- evaluate either Supra or Xyzel. (Not that my hands aren't already
- full with just these modems.)
-
- I'll post some version of my results when I'm done.
