  12. MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. January 24, 1992 Synopsys Inc. today announced
  13. the availability of its logic synthesis, test synthesis and VHDL system
  14. simulation tools to Hewlett-Packard Company's HP Apollo 9000 Series 700
  15. family of PA-RISC* workstations and servers.  The Series 700 features
  16. desktop and deskside models with system performance exceeding 76 million
  17. instructions per second, 77.5 SPEC marks and one million 2D/3D vectors
  18. per second.

  20. "The HP Series 700 was designed using Synopsys tools," said Greg Jones,
  21. strategic marketing manager at Synopsys.  "The combination of Synopsys
  22. and HP products represents a very complementary and competitive set
  23. of tools for high-level design.  With the Series 700, HP has brought
  24. strong price/performance characteristics to the market.  We will work
  25. closely with HP to continue to meet the evolving design needs of our
  26. mutual customers."

  29. performance levels in real-world applications.  Synopsys tools helped
  30. us achieve these results," said Andy DeBaets, a project manager for
  31. HP's workstation business unit.  "Our PA-RISC workstations have doubled
  32. performance levels in the market.  We're now using Synopsys to design
  33. the next generation HP Series 700 workstation."
