- MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. January 24, 1992 Synopsys Inc. today announced
- the availability of its logic synthesis, test synthesis and VHDL system
- simulation tools to Hewlett-Packard Company's HP Apollo 9000 Series 700
- family of PA-RISC* workstations and servers. The Series 700 features
- desktop and deskside models with system performance exceeding 76 million

- "The HP Series 700 was designed using Synopsys tools," said Greg Jones,
- strategic marketing manager at Synopsys. "The combination of Synopsys
- and HP products represents a very complementary and competitive set
- of tools for high-level design. With the Series 700, HP has brought
- strong price/performance characteristics to the market. We will work
- closely with HP to continue to meet the evolving design needs of our
- mutual customers."
-
- "In designing the Series 700, we focused on speed and achieving high
- performance levels in real-world applications. Synopsys tools helped
- us achieve these results," said Andy DeBaets, a project manager for
- HP's workstation business unit. "Our PA-RISC workstations have doubled
- performance levels in the market. We're now using Synopsys to design
- the next generation HP Series 700 workstation."
