  13. includes  most, but  not all,  of the  features of the
  14. full Internet Sidekick. For details, see Section 3.

  35. Please   note   the    following   information   about
  36. installing:
  37.  
  38. *  To  use  Internet  Sidekick,  you  must  be running
  39. Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0.
  40.  
  41. *  Be  sure to  close Sidekick  95 and  its Quick Menu
  42. before  installing  Internet  Sidekick.  To remove the
  43. Quick Menu, choose the Remove command from its menu.

  139. 3. ABOUT THE LITE VERSION
  140. =========================

  142. If  you have  the Lite  version of  Internet Sidekick,
  143. some features  are not available. Once  you unlock the
  144. Lite version, all features are fully functional.

  146. The  following  Internet  Sidekick  features  are  not
  147. available in the Lite version.

  160. 4. UNIMODEM V
  161. =============

  163. Some  telephony features,  such as  Caller ID, require
  164. use of Microsoft's Unimodem V driver.
  165.  
  166. You  can  download  the  Unimodem  V  driver  from the
  167. Starfish       Software       Web       site,       at
  168. http://www.starfishsoftware.com/cool/cool.html.  (Note
  169. that the manual erroneously states that the Unimodem V
  170. driver is included with the product.)

  179. Note: If you do not have a voice modem compatible with
  180. Unimodem V, do not install  the Unimodem V driver. See
  181. your modem documentation, or contact the manufacturer,
  182. to see if it supports Unimodem V.

  186. 5. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  187. =============================

  189. Q1: Can  Internet Sidekick be  installed to a  network
  190. directory?
  191.  
  192. A1: No.  Install will give  you an error  message when
  193. you do so.  In addition, you should not  use your data
  194. files if  they are stored on  a network directory that
  195. does not support long filenames.
  196.  
  197. Q2:  I use  Microsoft  Exchange  Inbox for  my e-mail.
  198. However,   after   installing   other   MAPI-compliant
  199. software,  I  could  not  use  Exchange  for  Internet
  200. Sidekick's scheduling features. What could the problem
  201. be?
  202.  
  203. A2:   This  may   be  due   to  the   fact  that  some
  204. MAPI-compliant  applications,  like  Eudora  Pro  2.2,
  205. replace  the original  Microsoft MAPI  DLLs with their
  206. own   customized   versions.   See   the   Eudora  Pro
  207. documentation,  or visit  the Qualcomm  Web site,  for
  208. configuration details.

  210. Q3:  Can  I  import  Lotus  Organizer  96 address book
  211. information?
  212.  
  213. A3: No, Organizer 96 and  Organizer 97 formats are not
  214. supported in this release.
  215.  
  216. Q4: I did not hear the alarm go off for an appointment
  217. that had an alarm.
  218.  
  219. A4:  To hear  alarms, you  must be  sure that Internet
  220. Sidekick is running and  the Calendar has been loaded.
  221. The best way  to be sure the Calendar  is available is
  222. to set  Calendar as your  default view. Choose  Tools|
  223. Preferences|General,   and  select   Calendar  as  the
  224. Default Deskpad View.
  225.  
  226. Q5: The e-mail addresses in  my Cardfile are not being
  227. recognized for group event scheduling. Why not?
  228.  
  229. A5: Specific key words must  appear in the field names
  230. for  the  fields  to   be  recognized  correctly.  For
  231. Internet addresses (such  as jsmith@xyz.com), the word
  232. "Internet" must  appear in the  field name. Other  key
  233. words are AOL, CompuServe, Fax, Exchange, phone. These
  234. terms can appear anywhere in the field name. To change
  235. field names, use the Cards|Define Fields command.
  236.

  254. from  the Starfish  Software Web  site. The  Adobe(tm)
  255. Acrobat(tm) Reader is required  to use this electronic
  256. User's  Guide; the  Acrobat reader  is also  available
  257. from our Web site.

  259. After installing the Acrobat  reader, you will be able
  260. to  double-click  the  SIS-man.pdf  file  to  read it.
  261. Instructions on how to  use Adobe Acrobat are included
  262. in  the  User's  Guide,  and  in  the Acrobat reader's
  263. online Help system.
