OSOTNHLP - "NO HELP IS AVAILABLE" MESSAGE WHEN ACCESSING HELP FILES
MOVED TO A NETWORK DRIVE
05/21/96
=======================================================================
"No Help is Available" Message when Accessing Help Files Moved to a
Network Drive
=======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
If the Help files for system features, games, or applications (such as
Selective Install, Klondike, EPM) are moved to a network drive, they
cannot be accessed. This occurs even if the SET HELP, SET GLOSSARY, or
SET BOOKSHELF statements are modified with the network location of the
moved files. The problem exists whether a direct network drive letter
or a UNC (Universal Naming Convention) is used.
RESOLUTION
This is a restriction of the operating system. To avoid this problem,
do not move the Help files to a network drive.
