I. OVERVIEW OF THE LEXIJET DEVICE DRIVER
-------------------------------------
This version of the LEXIJET device driver should be used for best
operation of the:
Lexmark 5000 Color Jetprinter
Lexmark 5700 Color Jetprinter
This driver is for use with IBM OS/2 versions 2.1 and higher ONLY. It
supports all cartridges, graphic resolutions, and paper sources available.
II. PREPARING THE LEXIJET DEVICE DRIVER
-----------------------------------
When you executed the self-extracting file, CJOS57LE.EXE, the following 8 files
were created:
README.1ST This file.
LEXIJET.DRV The Presentation Manager printer driver files that support
HBPFC2.DLL PM and non-PM applications.
HBPCS1.DLL
HBPDB1.DLL
LEXIJET.HLP On-line information on setup and use of the LEXIJET
driver.
LEXBUG.INF On-line information on setup and use of your printer.
WINOS2.TXT Tips for using the Lexmark ColorFine driver for Windows
in Win-OS/2.
Copy the files listed above to a 1.44 MB (or larger) diskette for ease of
installation as well as to provide an automatic backup. Do not change
the file names when copying them to the diskette. If you receive more
than one device driver package, the files provided with each package should
be copied onto a separate diskette to avoid intermixing code or documentation
files from different device driver packages.
III. INSTALLING THE LEXIJET DEVICE DRIVER ON OS/2 VERSION 2.1 OR LATER
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The following steps must be followed to correctly install the LEXIJET
device driver on OS/2 Version 2.1 and higher:
1. If the LEXIJET device driver is already installed on your system, you
must do the following two actions prior to installing the new version
of the LEXIJET printer driver:
* Print or cancel all jobs in all queues that use the LEXIJET device
driver.
* Shutdown your system by pointing to an open area on the desktop and
clicking mouse button 2. From the pop-up menu that will appear,
select SHUTDOWN. When a message appears that says that the
system has been shutdown, restart your system (press and hold CTRL
and ALT and press DELETE).
2. If you are installing the printer driver for use with an existing
printer object, follow the instructions outlined in section III.A
