  2.                            Direct Connect Setup

  5. For this type of connection the computers are directly connected via null-modem
  6. cable to a serial port on each computer.  Please verify that your hardware is
  7. in working order and the cable is a true null-modem cable.  If you do not use a
  8. null-modem cable this type of connection will not work correctly.  Please see
  9. Appendix A Modems and Cables for more information.

  11. After verifying your hardware, please make the following changes to your
  12. pcANYWHERE Hardware Configurations.

  14. HOST:

  16. Device/Port:        (the port with the null-modem cable attached to it)
  17. Modem Type:        None
  18. Data Rate:        (Start low and work your way up, do not use max.)
  19. Parity:            None
  20. Flow Control:        RTS/CTS
  21. Conn. Started By:    Receive 2 <CR>'s
  22. Conn. Ended By:        Always Connected or DCD

  24. After configuring the Hardware Configurations for the host, please save the
  25. changes by pressing ESC then saying Yes to the Save prompt.  Select this
  26. configuration as the Active Configuration, then Begin Host Operation.  Select
  27. either Exit, Allow Incoming Calls or Wait for a Call.  The host is now set-up
  28. and waiting for a call.

  35. Data Rate:        (Same value as Host)

  39. Conn. Ended By:        Always Connected or DCD

  41. After configuring the Hardware Configurations for the remote, please save the
  42. changes by pressing ESC then saying Yes to the Save prompt. Select the host
  43. you wish to connect to.  The Information for your host must have the above
  44. remote Hardware Configuration for the selected host.   There is no need for a
  45. phone number for direct connections.  Press ESC to save the changes and call
  46. the host.

  48. Your screen will be blank except for a bar at the bottom and a flashing cursor
  49. in the upper left corner of the remote screen.  Press ENTER twice.  This should
  50. begin the connection.
