  32. foothold.  Though the growth of both mountain and tree is tenuous and gradual, 
  33. it is none-the-less continuous and real.  In astral terms, the aspect of oppo-
  34. sition between the planets Earth and Mars, the immediate present and the near 
  35. future, focuses the hexagram on the small gains necessary for survival.  With 
  36. unswerving intent and continuous effort, 'Development' promises slow but 
  37. lasting progress.
