Both complexes are charged with refusing to rent units to African-Americans, and one complex is also alleged to have dscriminated against families with children. The lawsuits, filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit, name the owners and managers of the Kings Pointe Apartments in Warren, and the East Pointe Manor Apartments in East Pointe as defendants.
