Page 34 Here it is almost New Year's Eve and what would an issue of Eeeek BITS! be without discussing the custom of this celebration and the singing of the song "Auld Lang Syne." I'm sure we have discussed this before but for those of you who haven't seen the article on these two subjects, here we go again. New Year's Eve is celebrated with a bang and has been for a great many years. The custom comes to us from a primitive custom. Way back primitive people believed the best way to bring in a new year was to bang drums, scream, cry and dance. The reason, they believed this action would keep the demons from entering the next year.
