  15.  From Amadeus comes an Atlas over the reunited Germany so it's fully up to date
  16.  after the reunion. It is of course written in GERMAN, so the user must know a
  17.  little of the language to make use of the program - but it is mentioned here
  18.  as german language is taught in many countries and so may be suited for educa-
  19.  tional purposes outside Germany.

  21.  The atlas is easy installed via batchfiles, which allow installation on hard-
  22.  disk (drive C: or D:). And then just write ATLAS to get going.

  24.  You start out with a blank map, which can be filled with theme maps: cities,
  25.  states, lakes, rivers and mountains. There's a lot of information, and the
  26.  many names are nicely numbered on the map with name in the legende box.
  27.  Easy overview without cluttering the map. Search facilities will look for name
  28.  and display on map. Distances can be measured, and longitudes/latitudes can be
  29.  drawn.

  31.  For the more demanding there is about a dozen tables with cities, lakes, ri-
  32.  vers, boarders etc. and the same number of 3D-block diagrams of population,
  33.  population density, foreigners, unemployed etc. Nicely done and supplying a
  34.  good overview.

  36.  And this must be stated: Unfortunately the authors are under 'the influence'
  37.  of the german competion of 1990 for irritating innocent shareware users in the
  38.  highest degree !!! More sw-screens demands keypresses on various letter keys,
  39.  and a 30 second long forced pause before start makes it a program for only the
  40.  most patient users ... in my opinion it's an abuse of the shareware principle!
  41.  I would rather se a version with some of the mentioned functions missing ...
  42.  than a useless waste of time looking at the same screen or then pressing first
  43.  A, then H, the T etc ....

  45.  Otherwise: A recommendable program! Easy controls and fine graphics.

  47.  Price: ShareWare for 89 DEM - about 60$! I must admit to finding the price too
  48.  high as book atlasses generally are cheaper and support more names/maps ...

  55.  When teachers manage the techniques about making educational programs the're
  56.  very often the best, and Digestion from A. Wolinsky is no ecxeption. For the
  57.  last year I have seen several Linkway program and they have impressed me all
  58.  - so we have here a quality (commercial) authoring system for further innova-
  59.  tions on the educational front ...

  61.  Installation is easy - extract the program files to harddisk and start Dige-
  62.  stion by typing START or DIGEST - and the normal sw-screen tells about the
  63.  product and a short intro is offered on how to use the system, which is very
  64.  simple button-operations by selecting wanted text with click on hyperlinks
  65.  or pictures with click on wanted part of picture etc.

  67.  The offered chapters are Overview, Mouth, Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intesti-
  68.  nes, Liver & Gall Bladder, Pancreas and Large Intestines.

  70.  A great program for introduction and moderate studying the subject for higher
  71.  education, bigger kids, teachers etc.
