FIXDSZLG.EXE - Version 1.0
FixDSZLG - Fix DSZ Log File for Telegard BBS
As a Telegard SysOp, you need FixDSZLG ...
1. if you ever saw this line in your SYSOP.LOG file:
'Batch downloaded unauthorized file? ""'
2. if you noticed that some of your users could batch
download certain files without being credited with file
points
What's the problem? How can FixDSZLG fix it?
When a file is larger than 1000k (one megabyte) in size, DSZ
cannot correctly align the filename at the usual position on
the log file. In this situation, Telegard cannot pick up
the filename; that's why it thinks the file is unauthorized.
FixDSZLG fixes this problem by scanning the log file and
corrects any filenames that are not aligned at the correct
position.
Installation
To allow FixDSZLG to correct your DSZ log file, you need to
do two things:
1. Create a batch called DSZBATCH.BAT (you may use the one
included in this package). Store this batch file and
FixDSZLG in the same directory as your protocols.
DSZBATCH.BAT contains the following lines:
dsz %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
fixdszlg c:\tg\dsztemp.log
exit
The first line runs the protocol with all the usual
parameters, just like it used to. The second line
tells FixDSZLG to scan and, if necessary, fix the log
file that you tell it to look at.
2. Modify your batch protocol command so that Telegard
runs a batch file instead of running DSZ.EXE or GSZ.EXE
directly. Simply change all your batch DOWNLOAD
protocol commands that use DSZ/GSZ (there is no need to
change the upload command):
Original: DSZ port %P sz @%L
Changed to: DSZBATCH port %P sz @%L
