DMet 4.0 - A Maelstrom Utility
~~~~~~~~
DMet is a program designed to display drive space
conditions quickly, and conveniently. It was developed using
Borland's Turbo Pascal V5.5 (c) 1989.
Files:
~~~~~
This program was distributed originally as DMET40.ZIP.
It doesn't matter what the zip you received is called,
provided it includes the following files:
DMET.EXE - Main Program
DMET.DOC - This File
You may use Dmet, provided that you have both files on
the system. If you do not keep the documentation, you are
expected to remove your copy. If you distribute this file,
again, you are expected to include both files.
Disclaimer
~~~~~~~~~~
DMet works on my machine. This is a good thing since I
am my primary market. It may not work all the time. If it
works on your computer, so much the better. If not, let me
know, maybe I can write a version that does. If it vaporizes
you doctoral thesis, or turn your drive into a sizzling stream
of semiconductors and steel, well, too bad. If something
happens as a result of this program, I will not be held
liable. YOU USE DMET AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Miscellany
~~~~~~~~~~
This is not FREEWARE nor is it SHAREWARE. There are two
conditions to be considered a registered user.
1. This file (DMET.DOC) must reside in the same directory as
the executable. If you distribute copies, the two must be
together.
2. Send me a note with your name, address, occupation,
details of your computer system, and opinions or thoughts
about the program.
I enjoy writing software, and I take pride in my work. If you
think that DMet is useful and you feel that this calls for
remuneration, I accept cash, checks, and money orders. If you
like it, but don't want to donate, please write me anyway,
just so that I can see how far my stuff goes. If you have
suggestions, contact me. If you have problems, well, no
guarantees, but send me a situation report, and I'll see if I
can help.
Parameters
~~~~~~~~~~
Just list the letters drives you want metered.
/T will total the drives listed.
/G will show the meter with no statistics.
/! will reset any settings previously entered. (Use this to
make DMET ignore the config file.)
/Xfilename.ext will subtract the size of FILENAME.EXT from the
total.
DMET.CFG
~~~~~~~~
If there are options that you always use, create a file called
DMET.CFG. DMET only reads the first line of the file, so
place any comments after the first line. A sample config file
is provided in the archive. DMET.CFG must be in the same
directory as DMET.EXE or it will not be found.
DMET.CFG:

Other Utilities:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've done work on a number of programs, and so just to
organize them, and track them, I created Maelstrom Systems.
I am a programmer, with professional experience, so if you
have a suggestion for a utility, or need a custom program,
contact me.
The Maelstrom Line includes:
Dexe Do you hate typing DIR and then having a
massive list to sort through, to find certain
details? DEXE gives you a colorized report,
in multiple columns, and in various sort
orders, so you don't have to struggle.
TDel TreeDelete - When you need to delete a
directory tree.
