De Havilland Canada Dash 8
--------------------------
The DHC-8, named the "Dash 8", evolved from the 4-engine DHC-7 (which was
NOT called the "Dash 7"), though it does not have the STOL capabilities
of its bigger forebear. The extended (series 300) version of the Dash
8 has about the same passenger capacity as the older plane but has about
a 60 mph higher cruising speed with approximately the same horsepower.
The first series 100 model entered service in 1984, with the lengthened
series 300 following in 1989. So far over 300 Dash 8s have been delivered,
and they are in service in many parts of the world.
Both series 100 and 300 versions are included here - the 100 is seen in the
colors of USAir Express, while the 300 carries the distinctive maple leaf
tail insignia of Air Canada affiliates - in this case Air Ontario.
The .AFX files have been included in DASH-8.ZIP for the befefit of those
who may wish to modify the aircraft. This of course requires AAF, but it
is not needed just to fly these aircraft in FS4.
A full list of files included is :-
DASH8100.AFX The "export" packed series 100 model.
DASH8300.AFX The same for the 300.
DASH8100. & DASH8100.SIM required to fly the 100 model.
DASH8300. & DASH8300.SIM " " " " 300 "
DHC-8100.SIM & DHC-8300.SIM source files, only needed by AAF.
