  3. DEFINITIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS

  5. The purpose of the NetWire service is to provide a source of public 
  6. information about Novell and its products.  NetWire offers a medium in 
  7. which CompuServe Members interested or involved with Novell's product 
  8. line(s) may communicate with each other for the purpose of trouble-
  9. shooting problems, uploading/downloading files, and general discussion 
  10. regarding the networking industry.

  12. SYSOPS
  13. Sysops are volunteers who have contracted with Novell to share their 
  14. expertise and provide support to NetWire users.  Sysops are not Novell 
  15. employees, but have extensive real-world knowledge of networks and the 
  16. computer industry in general.  Sysops are identified with the "Sysop" 
  17. moniker following their name.  Sysops do not officially represent Novell.

  19. One of the great strengths of NetWire is the fact that you may receive 
  20. non-biased suggestions to overcome your networking problems - including 
  21. suggestions of third-party solutions.  This liberty is extended to 
  22. Sysops because of their volunteer status.
  23.  
  24. NETWIRE RULES AND POLICY
  25.  
  26. Members using the Novell's NetWire service on CompuServe agree to
  27. abide by the following guidelines, policies and procedures, as well as
  28. the standards and policies required by CompuServe--which may be 
  29. obtained by issuing the "GO RULES" command.:
  30.  
  31. Member agrees not to publish on or over the Service any information
  32. which violates or infringes upon the rights of any other person or
  33. any information which would be abusive, profane or sexually offensive 
  34. to a "reasonable" person.  The determination of any particular message
  35. being in breach of the above mentioned restrictions may be made by any 
  36. group or individual using the Service, and will be executed by volunteer 
  37. Sysops or Novell employees assigned to monitor NetWire Forums in the 
  38. following manner:

  40. Should any message be considered offensive in any way, the group or 
  41. individual with a complaint will send a E-mail message to the author 
  42. and/or a Sysop (volunteer or otherwise) on NetWire.  The offending 
  43. message will then be deleted.  In all cases, the author will be 
  44. notified that the message was deleted as per the request of a Member, 
  45. who may remain anonymous.  Any person receiving such a request will 
  46. remove the message from the Service as soon as is reasonably possible.
  47. Complaints will be directed to a "Sysop" and final judgment on any 
  48. issue will be made by the NetWire Supervisor at Novell.

  50. EDITING OF PUBLIC INFORMATION

  52. Novell reserves the right at its sole discretion to edit any
  53. public information appearing on the Service, regardless of whether it
  54. violates the standards for information content.
