These instructions are intended for users of communications software which is
NOT specific to the CompuServe interface. Procedures for users of CIS specific
software will differ somewhat from those described here.
1) If you know the name of the forum in which you wish to post a message,
type GO (FORUM NAME) and press enter - then move to step number 5. If
you do not know which forum you wish to visit, type GO NETWIRE and
press enter. If you type GO NETWIRE, you'll receive this menu:

2) Service and Support
3) Sales and Marketing
4) Novell Programs
5) About the Network Support Encyclopedia
6) New User Information
7) CompuServe Information Service
2) Select option 2 (Service and Support). Then, select option 2 (Messages
Questions and Answers) and you will see this menu:
1 Technical Information and Documents
2 Files, Patches and Fixes
3 Messages (Questions and Answers)
4 NetWare Application Notes
5 Novell Professional Development (NPD) Bullets
6 Novell Labs Bulletins
7 Training
8 Top Issues
3) A list of the question and answer forums will appear followed by a
"MORE !" prompt.
4) Select the forum where the message is to be posted by typing the
appropriate number and pressing the enter key.
5) A "Forum" prompt will result.
6) Type "messages" and press enter.
7) A "Messages" prompt will result.
8) Type "Compose" and press enter.
9) Enter the text of the message. When the message is complete, type "/exit"
on a blank line to signify the end of the message.
10) A "Post Action" prompt results.
11) Type the word "Post" and press return.
12) You will be prompted for "Name and/or UserID". Either enter the correct
name and/or UserID, or simply address the message to "SysOp" or "All".
13) You will then be prompted for a subject. Enter a three or four word
description of the subject matter. (24 character maximum)
14) A list of available sections will appear. Select the correct section and press
enter. (A list of sections is available in FRMORG.TXT)
15) You will be asked if the information is correct. Respond to "Is this Correct
Y/N" appropriately. (The N response will allow you to re-enter the Subject
and Section only)
16) If you select "Y" to the above, the you will be told the message has been
posted.
17) If you are finished with your CompuServe needs, type /BYE and you will be
logged out. If you need to post other messages type /GO FORUM (with
FORUM representing the forum you wish to visit). Then return to step 8.
Note: Remember to end your questions with a question mark. Some of our
technicians will search on"?" when responding to questions.
