- NO!! If you are an applications writer you need to know the location
- of some things. Eg you you want to run a program securely (ie without
- relying on $PATH to find it for you), you have to know where to find it
- (to within a couple of guesses).

- Also if you are writing install mechanisms, you often need to know how to
- find things, where to put things (don't rely on the installing user to
- tell you where they should go, they might not even understand the
- question).
