  8. Some time ago -- either last January or June Usenix time-frame -- the
  9. Berkeley folks called a meeting to discuss this.  At least Sun and DEC
  10. came.  Everyone hashed things out, and CSRG came up with the definitive
  11. prototype filesystem layout, as well as agreements from some people (DEC
  12. is one name I recall) to follow it.  Keith Bostic had viewgraphs, and
  13. posted them to comp.bugs.4bsd-fixes.  (No, I don't have a copy any more.)

  15. Perhaps people can pressure vendors to pick up the BSD standard.  (A nicely
  16. vague phraseology...)
