  5. Comment only: "SPARC" is a _horrible_ choice of names for a product
  6. connected with an ANSI (UNIX) standard, since the acronym is already
  7. used _within_ ANSI for its Standards Planning And Review Committee.

  9. I was on my third AT&T/Sun/SPARC posting reading before I realized
  10. that this committee was _not_ the subject matter!  (I was once a
  11. member of ANSI/X3H3; thence the strong association.)

  13. This name conflict can do nothing but lead to endless confusion within
  14. standards efforts involving this product, and so I recommend that
  15. "SPARC" should be quickly replaced with a less overloaded name by
  16. AT&T/Sun.
