  10. Music may be played from the main menu selection with any
  11. version of GEN7 Desktop (Desktop (F6) and then the submenu 
  12. selection Calendar / Music).  The default selection of songs is 
  13. twelve with all but the Bible Study program that contains 
  14. thirteen Hymns.  The Song Data Base extends the number of songs
  15. available to 33 for Version 1.4 (expect more with later releases).
  16. The songs are presented in a menu with six categories:

  59. By selecting a song to play, it will play continuously in the 
  60. background until it is stopped, or another song is selected, or
  61. until an external program is executed.  Note that from the 
  62. Desktop (F6) menu, and then from submenu Calendar / Music, the 
  63. currently playing song may be stopped from playing also.
  64.  
  65. These modules may be integrated into one after registration (one
  66. copy of GEN7 can be used to use either the Tutors or the Accounting or
  67. the Song Data Base).

  69. The GEN7 DeskTop features are:
  70.  
  71.         1) Delete, copy and get file statistics with point and
  72.            click mouse operation.
  73.         2) Set the system date and time.
  74.         3) A calendar is available with a memo function to 
  75.            remind of appointments or other dates.
  76.         4) Play music from the Desktop menu selection (F6).
  77.            Music may play continuously in the background 
  78.            from a selection of a dozen favorite tunes.
  79.            (One dozen with the other products.  The Bible
  80.             Study programs have thirteen Hymns, the other 
  81.             products have a variety of songs).
  82.         5) An analog clock may be displayed for constant
  83.            time notification.
  84.         6) A Calculator is available for doing simple 
  85.            arithmetic.
  86.         7) An internal editor is provided to allow viewing
  87.            or modifying small text files (up to 12000 bytes).
  88.            An external editor may be invoked from this option,
  89.            if the amount of available system memory allows
  90.            (approx. 171000 bytes are available in the shell).
  91.         8) A method to execute commands within DOS.

  93.         1) A brief synopsis of the internal editor:
  94.              a) PgUp, PgDn scroll up and down one line.
  95.              b) Cntl PgUp, Cntl PgDn scroll up and down one page.
  96.              c) Cntl Y deletes a line.
  97.              d) Cntl J inserts a line.
  98.              e) The arrow keys work as expected.
  99.              f) Home, End, Ins and Del work as expected, but 
  100.                 the Ins inserts one character at the cursor.
  101.              g) Alt-S Search forward, Alt-P Search backward.
  102.              h) Alt-R Replace forward, Alt-P Replace backward.
  103.              g) ESC exits the editor.
  104.           Only files of approximately 11000 characters may be
  105.           editted.  Invoking the editor is a three stage process: 
  106.             a) Click on the file to be editted.
  107.             b) Click again and drag the icon over to the editor icon.
  108.             c) Click again and drag the editor icon cursor into the
  109.                work area.  Questions are asked about the type of editor.

  111.         2) The Daily Quote feature cycles through over 450 different
  112.            sayings and jokes composed by one person at Synergistic
  113.            Consultants, Inc..  With the Bible Study version, or when 
  114.            one registers any of the other products, this feature may 
  115.            be configured so only certain categories are cycled through, 
  116.            or it may be disabled totally  (See Desktop F6, Calendar/Music,
  117.            on the GEN7 Main Menu).  Call or write for the availability 
  118.            of other databases to be used for tutorials, etc..
