  8. Children's Tutors Version 1.4:
  9.  
  10. Math Tutor and Time Tutor.
  11.  
  12. These two tutorials are designed for children ages PreSchool 
  13. through 3rd grade.  The math tutor teaches basic arithmetic
  14. by quizzing for missing digits or operators in addition,
  15. subtraction or multiplication and division problems.  A memory
  16. game is included that tests the memory of the children.  The
  17. time tutor teaches children how to tell time on an analog clock.
  18. A quiz mode is included that requires the child to move the 
  19. clock hands to match the time in the digital clock window.  Along
  20. with both of these tutors, all the functions of the GEN7 DeskTop
  21. environment are available for use.

  23. These modules may be integrated into one after registration (one
  24. copy of GEN7 can be used to use either the tutors or the accounting).
  25.  
  26. The GEN7 DeskTop features are:
  27.  
  28.         1) Delete, copy and get file statistics with point and
  29.            click mouse operation.
  30.         2) Set the system date and time.
  31.         3) A calendar is available with a memo function to 
  32.            remind of appointments or other dates.
  33.         4) Play music from the Desktop menu selection (F6).
  34.            Music may play continuously in the background 
  35.            from a selection of a dozen favorite tunes.
  36.            (One dozen with the other products.  The Bible
  37.             Study programs have thirteen Hymns, the other 
  38.             products have a variety of songs).
  39.         5) An analog clock may be displayed for constant
  40.            time notification.
  41.         6) A Calculator is available for doing simple 
  42.            arithmetic.
  43.         7) An internal editor is provided to allow viewing
  44.            or modifying small text files (up to 12000 bytes).
  45.            An external editor may be invoked from this option,
  46.            if the amount of available system memory allows
  47.            (approx. 171000 bytes are available in the shell).
  48.         8) A method to execute commands within DOS.

  50.         1) A brief synopsis of the internal editor:
  51.              a) PgUp, PgDn scroll up and down one line.
  52.              b) Cntl PgUp, Cntl PgDn scroll up and down one page.
  53.              c) Cntl Y deletes a line.
  54.              d) Cntl J inserts a line.
  55.              e) The arrow keys work as expected.
  56.              f) Home, End, Ins and Del work as expected, but 
  57.                 the Ins inserts one character at the cursor.
  58.              g) Alt-S Search forward, Alt-P Search backward.
  59.              h) Alt-R Replace forward, Alt-P Replace backward.
  60.              g) ESC exits the editor.
  61.           Only files of approximately 11000 characters may be
  62.           editted.  Invoking the editor is a three stage process: 
  63.             a) Click on the file to be editted.
  64.             b) Click again and drag the icon over to the editor icon.
  65.             c) Click again and drag the editor icon cursor into the
  66.                work area.  Questions are asked about the type of editor.

  68.         2) The Daily Quote feature cycles through over 450 different
  69.            sayings and jokes composed by one person at Synergistic
  70.            Consultants, Inc..  With the Bible Study version, or when 
  71.            one registers any of the other products, this feature may 
  72.            be configured so only certain categories are cycled through, 
  73.            or it may be disabled totally  (See Desktop F6, Calendar/Music,
  74.            on the GEN7 Main Menu).  Call or write for the availability 
  75.            of other databases to be used for tutorials, etc..
