  7.     equipment.

  10.             Check the Heisenberg compensators.  
  11.             I'll run a level-one diagnostic of 
  12.             the pattern buffer, see if there's 
  13.             any kind of field imbalance.

  15.     The N.D. nods and exits.  O'Brien immediately begins running 
  16.     tests on the transporter controls.  Kira ENTERS.

  23.             Any news from Starfleet?

  26.             Nothing good.  As far as they can 
  27.             tell, Commander Sisko and the others 
  28.             never materialized in San Francisco.  
  29.             According to their sensors, our 
  30.             transporter signal disintegrated 
  31.             immediately after we began the beam 
  32.             out sequence.

  36.             That doesn't agree with our records.  
  37.             The system log shows that the 
  38.             transport was completed successfully.  
  39.             They definitely materialized 
  40.             somewhere.

  44.             question is... where?

  47.             I wish I knew.  Whatever the answer 
  48.             is, it's not in the log.  The only 
  49.             thing unusual it recorded was the 
  50.             variance in the annular confinement 
  51.             beam...
