This is a sample document to used with The Write Perspective.
The ruler in this file agrees with the ruler in the .LST file.
This .DOC file has been created prior to selecting many
letters. It becomes part of the merge or .LST file which is
made by TFO. Often such pre-written letters are called form
letters.
Document (.DOC) files should always be letters. Lists of data
with names, addresses and so on are always labled with the .LST
file extension by TFO. The .LST file, in the case of The Write
Perspective, is the file that is 'Run' to print all the
letters. It holds the names, addresses and salutation necessary
for each letter.
To test how The Write Perspective works using Many Letters use
this Sample.doc file. Note the 'AP' for advance page at the
end of this file. When you make your own letter files be sure
to touch the F9 function key and type AP at the end of your
documents as well. For now, when TFO ask you for the document
(.DOC) file to be inserted in your list (.LST) file type
'sample.doc'.
It's usually a good idea to select a few records using the
record number, Level 3, search: Perhaps records 8 to 10
thereby controlling how many samples to print (in this example,
3).
Very truly yours,
Data Processor
