ÇWÇP.EXE The "Write-Perspective" executable.

MANUAL.LST Users Manual (Print image).
This diskette contains a "print image" document called
"MANUAL.LST." This is the user manual for the "Write-
Perspective." It can be printed by using the DOS Print
command on any printer. Note that the manual consists of
many module segments, and therefore, cannot be edited as a
whole (Please refer to the "CD:" Continue Document command.)
Example:
ÇcÇ:Ç>Ç ÇPÇRÇIÇNÇTÇ ÇAÇ:ÇMÇAÇNÇUÇAÇLÇ.ÇLÇSÇTÇ<ÇEÇnÇtÇeÇrÇ>Ç

When using ANSI mode on a DOS computer, you must first make
sure that your "CONFIG.SYS" file (if any) contains the line
"device=ansi.sys." If it does not, you must edit it and add
the line to it. If you don't, and you try to use ANSI mode,
your screen will be garbled.

When using page ranges, the page numbers represent the
physical page produced at print time, ÇnÇoÇt the logical page
number, which can be reset at any time. For example, the
fourth page printed would be page 4, but might be numbered
page 3, etc.

ANSI FUNCTION KEY ASSIGNMENT
Since some database and other programs call the Write-
Perspective directly while remaining resident, there exists a
possibility that the function keys can be mapped to return
different codes than normal. A new feature is available to
allow the specification of an ANSI file that will be
activated when the Write-Perspective exits back to the
calling program, thereby restoring any ANSI definitions.
Note that the Write-Perspective resets ans ANSI function key
assignments when it is executed. The command used to specify
the ANSI file is: -AFILE, where file = the filename of the
ANSI file.
EXTENDED DISPLAY MODE
It is now possible to look beyond the cursor line to the
following three lines of text (if any). This feature is
called the extended display mode.
It can be automatically selected from the document parameter
file, or can be toggled within the editor using the Alt/F9
keys.
This mode is valid except when using character attributes.
When character attributes are used, the bottom status lines
are necessary, so extended display mode will automatically be
toggled off when selection attributes. Simply toggle it back
on via Alt/F9.
NEW FUNCTION KEYS
Some new functions keys have been added:
1. Home - Will move the cursor to the begining of the line.
2. Ctrl/Home - Will move the cursor to the begining of the
document.
3. Ctrl/End - Will move the cursor to the end of the
document (ESC will abort).
4. Alt/F9 - Will toggle extended display mode.
SPELLING CHECKER & DICTIONARY
The new spelling checking program is now available as a
sperate product. If used, it can be automatically called
from the "write-perspective" by keying Shift/F2. If you mark
correction to any words, simply key enter to the request for
output document, and the "write-perspective" will read the
corrected marked document and show the marked words.
The spelling cheker program ("EMSPELL.EXE") is provided with
a utility program ("EMSUTIL.EXE") which allows many
functions, such as the ability to create a text file from a
dictionary, or make a dictionary from a text file, etc. A
main dictionary is provided with the product. The speller is
not limited for use with the "write-perspective", and can be
used on any text/document file.
This version of the "Write-Perspective" is an MS/IBM DOS
version only. That is, versions for DRI's Concurrent, and
HAAR's MUC-DOS must be purchased from HAAR Industries,
Washington, D.C. directly.
When exiting to the command processor, previous releases
looked in the current or root directory for the command
processor. This version nows cheks for the environmental
variable "COMSPEC", and if found, it is utilized. Note that
the command line switch -c will overide the "COMSPEC"
setting.
window from the bottom line to the top line. This is useful
on slow ANSI terminals to see the text just above the cursor
line. The '-l' command line switch reverses the display.
