  3. Steeple  Software  is  proud  to  announce  the first commercial release of
  4. PhotoFolio v2.0 in conjunction with Schatztruhe.
  5.  
  6. PhotoFolio  v2.0  is a major step forward from it's predecessor version 1.2
  7. with many new features including:
  8.  
  9. * ARexx
  10.  
  11. A  fully  documented  ARexx port for those of you who like to automate tasks
  12. using  ARexx  scripts.  These  scripts are made available through pull down
  13. menus and toolbay buttons and can be pre-configured in the settings window.
  14.  
  15. * Drag 'n' Drop proofs
  16.  
  17. Dragging  and dropping of proofs is now supported (by popular demand!). You
  18. can drag and drop:
  19.  
  20. - Between browse windows.
  21. - Onto a path in the main window's listtree.
  22. - Onto a Show window.
  23. - Onto the information window.
  24.  
  25. * Workbench Icon Support
  26.  
  27. Workbench icons can be dropped:
  28.  
  29. - Onto a browse window
  30. - Onto the listtree in the main window.
  31.  
  32. * Toolbays
  33.  
  34. Both  the  main  and  browse  windows  now  have  toolbays  (optionally, of
  35. course!)  making navigating around PhotoFolio v2.0 faster and easier. Those
  36. of you who don't like using context menus.... this is for you!

  38. * CLI support
  39.  
  40. You  can  launch  PhotoFolio v2.0 from a shell, passing in paths. Each path
  41. passed  in  will  automatically  be added to the main window's listtree and
  42. then opened into a browse window.

  44. * Listtree Tree mode
  45.  
  46. The  listtree  in  the main window can now be operated in the current "flat
  47. mode" or as a proper directory tree structure in "tree mode".
  48.  
  49. * Native IFF-ILBM loading
  50.  
  51. Imageio.library  has  been re-written to support IFF-ILBM. This means there
  52. is a dramatic increase in speed when loading IFF-ILBM files.
  53.  
  54. * Amiga DOS pattern matching
  55.  
  56. Selecting  proofs  has  never  been  easier.  Using  the in-built Amiga DOS
  57. pattern matching system, proofs can now be selected using wildcards etc.
  58.  
  59. * Saving of images as JPegs
  60.  
  61. Images can now be converted to jpegs directly within PhotoFolio v2.0.

  63. * Settings
  64.  
  65. The  setting window has been totally re-designed and re-written making sure
  66. your   prefs  file  is  completely  compatabile  with  future  versions  of
  67. PhotoFolio.

  69. * Unsaved proof indication
  70.  
  71. For  those  of  you  who run without any text description below the proofs,
  72. knowing  which  proofs  are saved and which aren't is a problem. Now, a red
  73. box  is  (optionally)  drawn  in  the  bottom right hand corner of un-saved
  74. proofs.

  76. * Constant size proofs
  77.  
  78. Proofs  can now be displayed at a constant size, making the distribution of
  79. proofs in the browse window even.
  80.  
  81. There  has also been several minor improvements and additions, and many bug
  82. fixes from version 1.2 making it more stable and flexible.

  84. These new options coupled with the the existing features of PhotoFolio make
  85. it  a  formidable  image  cataloguing  system  for  both  the  amateur  and
  86. professional user alike. With continuing support, PhotoFolio promises to be
  87. one  of  the most powerful image cataloguing systems available on the Amiga
  88. platform.

  90. PhotoFolio  v2.0  is planned to be released in early to mid February. Price
  91. has  yet  to be decided, however users who have paid the shareware fee will
  92. receive a discount on the retail price.
