  5. Quick ASCII printing can be performed directly from the
  6. Editress, by selecting PRINT from the FILE menu (^P).
  7.  
  8. The PRINTER DIALOG provides the following options:
  9.  
  10.    ∙  Print the whole or just  the selection of a  text
  11.       window
  12.  
  13.    ∙  Choose a text window to print text from
  14.    
  15.    ∙  The number of copies
  16.    
  17.    ∙  One- or two-column output
  18.    
  19.    ∙  The height and width of  a column of text on  the
  20.       printer in character cells.
  21.  
  22.    ∙  The top and bottom margins in the number of lines
  23.       from the top of the page.
  24.  
  25.    ∙  The left margin in horizontal character cells
  26.    
  27.    ∙  The middle margin in horizontal cells between the
  28.       columns, for two-column output.
  29.  
  30.    ∙  Page header on/off.  A  page header is one  extra
  31.       line at  the top  of a  page showing  file  name,
  32.       time, date and page number.

  34.    ∙  The option to  use form  feed or  a fixed  bottom
  35.       margin.

  37. EXAMPLE.  Your chain paper-based  matrix printer has  a
  38. condensed  character  set.    With  this  set, a   page
  39. contains 66  lines and  164 characters  per line.   For
  40. printing a  text  in  two-column  format  without  form
  41. feeds, choose the following values:

  43.    Column height 60, width 78
  44.    Margins: top 3, bottom 2, left: 4, middle: 4
  45.    Form feeds off, page header on.

  47.    (1 + 3 + 2 + 60 = 66, 4 + 4 + 2 * 78 = 164)

  50. ** form feeds and  bottom margin are  only sent to  the
  51.    printer  BETWEEN   pages,  not  before   and   after
  52.    printing.
