The Burdick Magic System continues. It will probably be the
last article for a while...

(how society treats sorcerors)
(

in most societies, sorcery is against the law. in some, only some patrons
are outlawed, and in others, it's a total free-for-all.
in an experimental combination of cyber-punk and sorcery, which I'll run
this summer, maybe, or in the fall, the players are participants in a war
between two cheapo fast food places. the big-wigs in society use sorcery
all the time, but they eliminate or hire any users they find out about...
alot of kings are secretly servants of the Black Widow, and in one town of
mine (fantasy world), there's a crime-boss who has a demon 'body guard'
(which is really his boss).
in most cases, people are afraid of sorcerors and servants of Vangence are
almost always executed on sight. The Weapon of Vengence (I referred to it
in the last article) is any weapon of the sorceror's choice (initially --
it doesn't change..), and it has a black radience, which is not reproducible
except with advanced holographic techniques in the cyber-punk world, so it's
a dead (heh, heh) givaway to any authorities of who you are. also, Vengence
favors hand weapons, he never gives out missle weapons -- they're too cowardly,
you can't truly taste vengence, unless you can feel the life flowing out of
your enemy.
