Signs to look for:
Sudden weakness, paralysis, or numbness of the face, arm or leg on one
side of the body
The corner of the mouth may droop
Loss or slurring of speech
Sudden headache
Possible confusion or unconsciousness
Sudden fall
Impaired vision
Strong, slow pulse
Pupils of the eyes may differ in size
Difficulty breathing, chewing, talking
Loss of bladder and/or bowel control
Immediate Treatment:
1. Call for emergency medical services.
2. Check and maintain an open airway, restore breathing and circulation
3. Place the victim on his weak side so secretions can drain from his mouth.
4. Keep the victim warm, quiet and calm.
5. Apply cold cloths to the head.
6. Do not give any food or fluids.
