  17.      Although many people with impaired vision are classified as legally
  18. blind, there is a world of difference between those who are truly blind (total
  19. lack of vision) and those with some usable vision who are often mistaken for
  20. someone who is totally without sight because of mere terminology.  Individuals
  21. who have low vision can be helped in many ways so that they may still take
  22. advantage of their visual ability.  There is a fine group dedicated to helping
  23. those folks, and they have made a truly excellent publication available for
  24. all who wish to understand just how the complex mechanisms of eyesight work.
  25. The booklet, printed in large type entitled "The Eye and Your Vision" is
  26. obtainable upon request from the National Association for Visually Handicapped
  27. (NAVH), Department AB, 22 West 21st Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10010.  No
  28. envelope required as this booklet is too big to fit, and is packed with
  29. information for visually handicapped individuals, their families and friends.
