Introducing PACT SetTextColor
This unique tool can set the desktop icon text color, the desktop icon text background
color, and is even able to set the desktop icon text background to transparent!
Since Windows does not allow to set these values, it creates a shortcut in the Startup
menu to set your preferred color scheme at Windows start-up.
You can also create your own shortcuts to change to different colors as you like. A
very interesting, handy tool, with a functionality not possible before!
• PACT SetTextColor does not switch a setting
anywhere because there is none in Windows. Instead, it sends a color command directly to
the desktop icons. When Windows repaints the desktop later, when you apply changes to the
desktop settings, or restart the system, you need to start SetTextColor again.
"An issue", as somebody has nicely formulated, "that you will have to
live with," since Windows will never keep the color settings. However, you can place
a shortcut into the startup folder to set the color automatically at boot, or set your
favorite color with one click.
• If you use Windows 98 or IE 4.0, and have the
Active Desktop enabled, and your desktop view is set to "View as Web Page", and
you apply a new color, you need to click on the desktop and press F5 to refresh the
display and show the changed colors.
