Artbeats Animated Surface Maps
Artbeats is pleased to include these clips from the Animated Surface Map series for your use and enjoyment. The Animated Surface Maps are moving images that are seamless in both time and space, i.e., just like a traditional still surface map, you can tile the image - but they're also a seamlessly looping clip that you can play over and over!
These clips are only a sample of the footage available on the three volumes of the Animated Surface Maps series. The clips are distributed as QuickTime movies with a resolution of 400x400 pixels at 72ppi, encoded with PhotoJPEG for maximum image quality in a useful file size.
These surface maps can be extracted into individual frames that can be loaded as an animated texture map into Maya. The How to Extract Images from a Movie lesson shows you how to use Maya Fusion on Windows NT to accomplish this task.
