| Audacity 1.2.3 Most good audio editors are usually quite expensive to buy, but there is one exception: Audacity. It's a free, open source program that offers some pretty powerful features, including 96kHz, 32-bit audio recording and playback; a good (if rather basic) selection of built-in effects; extensive file format support and multitrack mixing capabilities.
