How to open archives

The first step is to open an archive. Press the "Open" -button in the iavaZip toolbar. This will open the standard Open Archive dialog.

Select an archive in the Open Archive dialog box. iavaZIP offers support for these archive formats: zip, gz, tar, tar.gz and jar.

Once an existing archive is open you can extract or work with the files in the archive. The files and folders in an archive are listed in a the Tree window, which shows you the complete structure of the archive.

You can highlight and select files and folders which you would like to extract from the archive. You can view files by double click. The contents of the file will be displayed in the integrated viewer of iavaZIP.

You can explore the structure of the zip-files using your mouse.
Folders and subfolders can be explored or viewed by pressing the plus-icon or via double click to the required folder.
