iavaZIP graphical interface

The iavaZIP window is where you start many of your operations. You can open it by clicking on the iavaZIP icon on your desktop or from the directory, where you installed it. Lets talk about all iavaZIP windows and let us explore the whole interface now.

iavaZIP is parted in the following parts:

iavaZIP Title bar

displays the name of the archive you are currently working with

iavaZIP Toolbar

provides quick ways of performing the most common tasks:

New button - open the file dialog, which lets you create a new archive.
Open button - opens the file open dialog, which lets you open an existing archive.
Import button - opens the iavaZIP's import dialog, which easily lets you import files to an existing archive
Extract button - opens iavaZIP's extract dialog, which lets you select files and folder, which you like to extract from an existing archive.
Delete button - deletes files from your archives. You can select files and folders which should be removed from the archive.
About IavaZIP button - shows you information about the version you are using.
Quit button - This will close your iavaZIP session and exits the application.
Help button - The help button provides you with quick informations.

iavaZIP Filestructure window

The tree structure is the main feature in iavaZIP and the reason for the large amount of functionality. It shows you the structure of your archives as a tree and enables you to select as many files and folders for importing and extracting extracting as you want.

The tree window lets you select files and folders with ease. You can highlight (select) multiple files and folders from any location in your machine or network.

The File information bar is available if you doubleclickt to the file. It provides information about the files in the archive

name of the file
size of the file
date when it was created or last changed

Integrated file viewer and executer

The viewer area is placed in the left half of iavaZIP. iavaZIP will show you the content of every file there. To view a file, simply doubleclick it in the tree window. iavaZIP can view all types of text files. iavaZIP supports GIF and JPG images and FLI.

Import dialog window

The import dialog window enables you to select files from your hard drives to import to your archive. iavaZIP's treestructure features allows you to select files from any hard drive or folder in one session. Select them and press the import-button. That's all. All available options in this dialog window are described in "How to import files".

Extract dialog window

The extract dialog window lets you decompress an entire archive or files you selected in the tree window with ease. All available options in the extract dialog window are described in section "How to extract files from an archive".

Delete dialog window

The delete dialog window lets you deletes files from your archives. You can select files and folders in the tree windows, which should be removed from the archive. It's no problem too to delete the entire archive. Additional informations are described in the section "How to delete files from an archive" .
