It doesn't matter whether the information is stored on a hard drive, network, intranet, or Internet—it's all just a mouse-click away from your browser window. Why start another application just to view what you need? For example...
Once you've installed the Platform Preview of Internet Explorer 4.0, a mere three mouse clicks can demonstrate its flexibility:
First Click: The Internet icon. (Remember, it only takes one click to start Internet Explorer on the Active Desktop.) Voilα, a Web page—but we knew it could do that. Type C: (or the letter of your hard drive) in the Address bar and press Enter. Bingo, you're looking at the contents of your hard drive. Second Click: My Documents, or any folder that contains a document.
Third Click: Any document. And there you have it—from Internet to hard drive to file, all in the same window, in three easy clicks. Now try the Forward and Back buttons to move back and forth!
