Using a security approach called "sandboxing," Internet Explorer 4.0 will give you peace of mind by letting you control exactly what a Java applet can and cannot do when interacting with your system. This feature is coming soon in a later release of Internet Explorer 4.0. At the highest security level, you'll be able to prevent Java applets from accessing your local hard drive or sending and receiving information over the Internet, thus guaranteeing the integrity and privacy of your personal data. Alternatively, you'll be able to choose to lower the security on applets you trust, enabling more powerful and interactive features from Java applets.
