Global address books

Your personal, professional, and world-wide address books are as close as the Start menu on your desktop or the Tools menu in OutLook Express. Once you've opened one, just type a portion of the name you're searching for, and then let name resolution take over.

Here's how it works...

Global Address Books Once you've imported your personal address books (File menu-Import-Address Book), the world is at your fingertips.

With its built-in Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Outlook Express gives you access to virtually any name or e-mail address in the world. You can even add them directly to your personal address books.

You can open your address books by pointing to Find on the Start menu, then clicking People. Or you can go directly to your Windows Address Book from the Address Book button on the Outlook Express toolbar.

From the Windows Address Book, you can simply point to a name to get additional information about the individual. Once you start typing a name, Windows Address Book will search ahead and find the names beginning with the letters you type.

In Outlook Express, you can use CTRL+K or Tools-Check Names to find matches to partial names, or just click the Find button and search any of the Internet white page directories for the person you're trying to reach!
