Custom folders: Information where you need it

Custom folders in Internet Explorer 4.0 (Preview Editon) give Internet Content Providers (ICPs), corporations, and advanced users the ability to add additional functionality to WebView folders. The folders for My Computer, Control Panel, Printers, Favorites, and History folders come with pre-installed templates that include special applets. Because the Active Desktop and all of its components are based on HTML, anyone can create similar accessories.

For example...

WebView Click the My Computer icon on your desktop. Unless you've already selected WebView, you'll see a fairly "normal" Windows folder. But wait! See the Address Bar, Forward and Back buttons, and other Web browser tools near the top? The arrows may be greyed out, until you start navigating through the folder.

Right-click on an empty spot in the folder, select View, then select Web. The My Computer folder, like the ones mentioned above, contains additional HTML code that gives you the ability to point to items in the folder for additional information!
