![]() ![]() ![]() Desktop Components bring live Web content to your desktop! Internet Explorer 4.0 introduces an exciting new technology that brings the Web to your desktop: Desktop Components. These components are pieces of Web pages or HTML-based code that you can place directly on your Active Desktop. You can move them, resize them, and specify how often you want them to update. With Desktop Components, you can create your own Web "newspaper," where the content you care about most updates automatically. To use Desktop Components, you must be running Internet Explorer 4.0 with the Integrated Shell installed and the Active Desktop turned on. How does it work? You can check out some cool Desktop Components in our Desktop Component Gallery. Click the "Put it on my Desktop" link under each component to quickly and easily add it to your desktop.
