FrontPad: Create your own Web pages!
Want to author your own Web pages? ItÆs easy with FrontPad, one of the core components of Internet Explorer 4.0. FrontPad will take you step by step through the process of creating Web pages, plus itÆs a great tool for editing existing HTML documents. With FrontPad installed, the "Edit" button on the Internet Explorer 4.0 toolbar allows you to easily edit any page you view. Then you can use the Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard to post the modified page back to the server.
Microsoft FrontPad is a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) HTML editor based on MicrosoftÆs award-winning and full-featured FrontPage 97 editor. FrontPad brings you the following features:
- Personal Home Page Wizard: Create your own home page! This wizard takes you step by step through the process.
- Table Creation and Editing: Insert a table into your Web page and then edit either the entire table or individual cells.
- Forms: Add forms to your Web page that people can fill out and return. Your forms can include text boxes, check boxes, drop-down menus, images, and more. (You must be connected to a server running FrontPage server extensions to use these forms-related features.)
- Page Templates and Wizards: If youÆre connected to a server running FrontPage server extensions, you can also use form-related wizards and templates that let you do the following: create a form by simply selecting the types of information you need to collect; create a page to acknowledge that youÆve received a userÆs input; and create a survey form to collect information from readers and store it in a file on your Web server.
- Java Applet, JavaScript, Plug-In, and ActiveX Support: FrontPad supports top Internet technologies from throughout the software industry—including MicrosoftÆs own ActiveX, of course.
FrontPad also integrates with Internet Explorer 4.0's Web Publishing Wizard, which makes it easy for you to post your finished product to the Web.
