NetMeeting: See and speak with others as you share information

NetMeeting Conferencing Microsoft NetMeeting brings you the complete Internet conferencing solution. With NetMeeting you can use your computer to hold voice and video conversations with friends, family, and business associates, and at the same time share software applications, data, and a whiteboard to collaborate with others in real time over the Internet or an intranet.

NetMeeting is built on an open, standards-based platform, which means you can use NetMeeting with people who run products from other companies. It also means youÆll have a wide selection of hardware and software vendors to choose from for products that build on this revolutionary new way to communicate and collaborate with others.

People at home, students, and employees of both small businesses and large organizations can all use NetMeeting to tap into the global reach of the Internet. NetMeeting delivers the following in a complete, integrated package for use over the Internet or a corporate intranet:

  • Data Conferencing Among Groups. NetMeeting lets you collaborate and exchange information with individuals or groups of people in real time. You can share an application on your computer, exchange graphics or draw diagrams on a shared whiteboard, send messages or take notes via text-based chat, and send files to other meeting members.
  • Audio Conferencing. NetMeeting serves as an "Internet phone," letting you talk with another person in real time over the Internet or an intranet and enjoy high-quality audio as you do so. While you're conversing, you can also bring in data or video conferencing—either to get something done or to just have fun.
  • Video Conferencing. When you add a video capture card/camera to your PC, you can hold a face-to-face conversation with another person over the Internet or an intranet with high-quality video. You can even take a snapshot of a person or object with your video camera and place it on the whiteboard for discussion or markup. Plus you donÆt need a video camera on your PC to receive video.
