Whenever you start up the browser in the Platform Preview of Internet Explorer 4.0, the first thing you see is Internet Start, a world-class page that always includes fresh articles and features to help you get more out of the Internet. You can customize this page so it also keeps you up to date with information about the topics that matter to you most—whether that's the latest happenings in the entertainment or Internet world, news about sports or finances, or the latest stock prices. Those are just a few of the things you can choose to receive through Internet Start's Personalization feature.
You can choose to add headlines from top news providers—including Wired, MSNBC, and Forbes—to bring you information from categories such as Technology, News, Entertainment, and Sports. You can also search the Web from your Internet Start page and find everything from toll-free 800 Numbers to e-mail addresses to TicketMaster events. Through its Exploring section, Internet Start also includes regularly updated links to the latest sites from around the world that qualify as the Best of the Web in categories such as Sports, Travel and Entertainment, and Computers and Technology. How does it work? By default, your start page is set to Internet Start (http://home.microsoft.com/). To customize Internet Start, click "Personalizing" in the toolbar at the top of the page. Then follow the instructions on the screen to select the type of content you want to see each time you start Internet Explorer 4.0.
