Dynamite! Metal News is the Internet's premier source of information for everything in the world of heavy metal. While my primary focus is reporting metal news, this page also acts as a haven for the metal community, a place for people to come together and share their love of metal. In that regard, Dynamite offers a mailing list that people can subscribe to and discuss their favorite topics, ask for opinions about a new release, or really anything metal-related.

In addition to the aforementioned news section and mailing list, Dynamite also features an ever-expanding reviews page, along with reader-submitted articles. I also maintain a list of other heavy metal zines that I subscribe to and recommend, along with the obligatory links section.

Now for a little about myself. My name is Joel Ansier, I'm 22 years old and a recent graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University. This page started as an ad for my radio show that I had at our college station, WESN. My show was called Metal Masturbation, and was on every Saturday night for 2 hours, ten to midnight. While the show was in operation, I maintained a list of playlists that visitors to the page could download.

In the summer of 1997, I became a frequent contributor to Open Up And Say, and started to make more contacts in the metal world. I started posting news updates around this time, and in December of 1997, I transformed the page into a full-fledged news operation. In May of 1998, I moved the page from my college server and signed up at Simplenet.
