Using a Room Simulator

In contrast with most other effects, a room simulator is usually used to add realism to a music production. Tracks are recorded in a dry room with no reflections and later these tracks are sent through a room simulater that adds reflections just the way a natural room would have done. The advantages are twofold:

First, it is inexpensive. A natural room that sounds good is expensive to build and hence also expensive to rent. A digital room simulator costs much less.

Second, it is flexible. Adding the room later by a digital room simulator gives you freedom. If you record in a natural room, all reflections are on the tracks, you can't remove them anymore. With a digital room simulator you can change, experiment and modify after the recording has been done, until you are fully satisfied with your room.

RoomMachine 844 comes with 10 editable factory program presets that give you a selection of  rooms for different situations. To create your very own room you can use 10 knobs that control various room parameters: PAN L, PAN R, DISTANCE, STEREO, SIZE, DECAY, DAMPING, COLOR, DRY, WET.
