Some Setup Tips for the Losi XX
These
tips are a summary of tips i have found on american web - sides and some
added comments of me.
Front Axle
- 20 - 35 oil, green springs, 3 mm limiter in shock
( B spacer)
- Shock mounted hole 2 or 3 from inside on tower, middle
hole in the arm
- Upper suspension arm hole 2 or 3 from inside, No toe-in
or out 1 degree neg camber, 25 degree caster blocks
- Instead you can try this: Shock mounted in the outer
hole of the arm, no limiter, orange springs
Rear Axle
- 30 - 40 oil, pink springs or yellow springs on extrem
slippery surface, B - spacer inside and outside shock or outside two A
spacers
- Shock mounted hole 2 or 3 from inside on tower, hole
4 in the arme *Hole 4: This hole is not standard. Remove brace from arm
then drill a hole 4 mm out from standard outside hole 3
- The upper suspension arm should be mounted inside
in hole 6 and outside in hole 4
- Pivot support #2 on smooth tracks and #4 on bumpy
tracks, 3.5 rear hub, 1 degree negativ camber
General
- Front arms and rear dogbones level
- The Battery could be placed back ( more acceleration
- grip, good for slippery surface ). Place the spacer from the rear to
the front
- Tires front: Wide bodies (gold) Rear: IFMAR pins (silver)
on hard loam with some dust, IFMAR Stud ( silver ) on hard loam without
dust, Step Pin ( gold ) on loose ground or grass
- I drive motors from 14 to 12 Turns. For the gear ratio
i have found the following rule of thumb: Less grip longer gear ratio.
( for example: 1:8 is a longer gear ratio then 1:11 ). Check out a 12 turns
motor with 1:9 gear ratio. This would be fast on the straights and you
have enough punch for acceleration. The Current - limiter on the speed
- controller is not much important. I set the limit to 70 Ampere. I set
the Hydra-Clutch, so that if you press down the rear axle the Hydra-Clutch
and the wheels spin.

The wolrdwide best Tuning-Part for the YZ-10.
THE S.P.O.R.T.
CHASSIS
Including:
1 x CAD and CNC produced graphite chassis
- two different wheelsbases are possible:
- original and long wheelbase ( 1,2 cm longer then standard for a smooth
drive on bumpy tracks or jumps )
- 9 batterie slots for 6 possible batterie positions ( best handling
on the front position )
- holes for servo fixing PS 1001, 1002 etc.
- stressvector optimized design for highest stiffness and lowest weight
1 x CNC drilled upper graphite chassis plate for long wheelbase
2 x graphite battery plates with screws and nuts
1 x long rear special - drivebelt for long wheelbase and best efficiency
Spare part for S.P.O.R.T. - Yokomo - Chassis: Rear long special
- drivebelt

- graphite front shock tower rear ( lowest airdrag and progressive suspension
due to inclined shock position and holes for the best wing mount from Kyosho
part no.UMW 1 )
