One share each in Britain

Richard Mills

From an e-mail to the Institute.

Parliament is hopelessly undemocratic and corrupted by power. Why not set up an alternative government structure, maybe based on a charitable or co-operative insurance company?

Shareholders would be individual residents of Britain and can own only one share each; they contract to make long-term regular payments into the company for health, education, etc, and vote together on how to manage the fees and pay-outs. There would be no need to wait for the next five-year election; at the worst, just until the next AGM.
